As part of the BAMGIRE program, a training workshop on OPIDIN was organized in Altenburg & Wymenga, the Netherlands, from November 12 to 16, 2018, for transfer to the National Directorate of Hydraulics of Mali.
Three representatives from Wetlands International and two from the National Directorate of Hydraulics of Mali participated in this workshop.
The general objective of the workshop is to ensure the appropriation of the tool by the teams of Wetlands International and the National Directorate of Hydraulics of Mali. The workshop covered the use of the OPIDIN, its objectives, technical aspects and limitations, the website, the process of its transfer, future developments and recommendations. Special attention was also given to water management in a Dutch context and to the production of natural resources in the Netherlands. Also a short visit was made to a Dutch dairy farm, at the polders and pumping stations.
